Vincent Traynor - Sheffield Hallam University: Enhancing Executive Education: Can EMCC standards improve Business School delivery

Session on 15 November 2021 18:00 UTC - View on timetable

This dialogue session has been born out the realisation that business schools have very different teaching and learning approaches for executive education programmes. Whilst some comfortably work with issues of learner and cohort process, many are wedded to content with more lecture-led delivery.

In this session I will invite you to reflect with me on the following:

  • What is executive education? Who are the learners and what are their needs? What are their organisational contexts?
  • What is the ”right” balance between process and content?
  • In what ways can EMCC standards shed light on, and challenge, conventional approaches? I’m thinking here, for example, about the Competence Framework and Team Coaching standards.

At the end of the session, we’ll reflect on how our own training and executive education provision may be enhanced.
