Today, the focus on sustainability is everywhere – from micro to macro, local to global.  Worldwide, whether altruistically motivated or commercially driven, most organisations are shifting their outward strategic focus, to ensure that their products and services are sustainable – net zero impact.

As practitioners, what if we turn the lens of organisational sustainability inward.  How could we best support leaders at all levels to evolve their leadership to reduce human energy wastage and instead focus on creating sustainable flow and harmony at all levels, from top to bottom, from inside-out.  What levels of sustainable thriving would that enable?  What would be the impact on the organisational system and the people within it?

Sonya Trau is a dynamic and intuitive leader in the coaching and leadership industry in Australia. With more than 14 years and 15,000 hours of leadership coaching and facilitation experience, Sonya heads up Leading Well’s Queensland team.

Sonya’s core focus includes design and delivery of leadership and team development programs, executive coaching, coaching skill development and facilitation.

Her expertise is valued by leaders of large and mid-tier professional services, government and corporate clients because of the depth and breadth of skill, experience, insight and ability to connect deeply with individuals and with insight.  She is passional about supporting leaders to grow personally/professionally, focusing on the individual, interpersonal dynamics and the whole organisation, as a system. Through three decades of observation and engagement, she has come to believe that it takes ‘leadership plus wellness (individual and system) to create solid and sustained performance’.

Her projects have ranged from team and individual leadership coaching, strategic facilitation, as well as designing and delivering high impact blended multi-agency, multi-level leadership programs across government and corporates.

Having spent more than 25 years in management and the executive levels of multinational and national corporations for global brands, Sonya’s highly practical approach enables deeper learning and sustainable leadership uplift. She is passionate about building leadership capability and developing systemic ‘whole of system’ and relational ‘soft skills’ required for high impact leadership. She loves working with leaders to hone their personal and interpersonal awareness empowering them to achieve positive personal and organisational results.

Sonya started her work life as a scientist with the CSIRO, then as a metallurgical engineer, started and successfully exited her own software business and has held a number of global leadership roles and non-executive board positions prior to embarking on her role as a leadership coach in 2007.

Sonya has been an EMCC Foundation Member Asia Pacific Region since 2018.
