Paul Smith - Coaching Minds: The Self-help Industry: Helping more than just Ourselves.

Session on 17 November 2021 20:00 UTC - View on timetable

As the Coaching industry expands, there is still a rise in the global number of people suffering from depression, anxiety, and suicides each year. According to statistics collected by the World Health Organisation (WHO), close to 800,000 people commit suicide every year, which equates to one person every 40 seconds. To put that into reality, by the time you finish reading this session outline, around 3 people would have decided to have taken their life.

This may be uncomfortable to read, however, if we want to create change… we must become comfortable with the uncomfortable and understand together, how we can tackle this problem. Awareness is the first step to change but acceptance, accountability and action needs to follow. In this session we will explore how the self-help industry can begin to help more than just itself and how as an industry, we can make more of a Social Impact.

Join us for a series of round table discussions through Zoom Break-Out rooms to talk about some key points on this topic and to share your thoughts and ideas.
